Enchanted Evening

I finished this painting tonight!! I'm really happy with how she turned out! I couldn't really think of a good title for it, so I settled on, "Enchanted Evening" since the colors made me think of night and she's a vampire. :)

The detail took a while, and it is one of the more ambitious paintings that I've done lately. I think I mainly feel that way, because it seemed so much larger than I've bee working lately, being an 8 x 10" portrait. That's not really that big, but it just seemed more complicated. Maybe it was the lacy fan. lol

Anyway, it's done in watercolor, white goauche and colored pencils. My usual media. :)

Wow I must say I really love this latest piece. It really outshines the rest as far as the sense of detail and atmosphere...of course I am biased towards any dark and mysterious ladies with blue roses:) The details in the beading and lace really make this stand out.

I look forward to more in this vein!
